ITALIAN 1960 Snail Brooch In Solid 18Kt Yellow Gold With Diamonds & Sapphires
An Italian whimsical snail brooch.
This is an outstanding brooch of a snail with his shell, created in Italy during the modernist period, back in the 1960. The brooch has been crafted with thorough details and substantial weight in solid rich yellow gold of 18 karats with brushed, engraved and polished finishes, and parts in white gold sections for the settings of the diamonds. The brooch is embellished with a great assortment of natural earth mined gemstones, such; ten Ceylon blue sapphires and twenty-seven white colorless diamonds. It is fitted at the reverse with a concealed hinge pin bar and a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch.
Diamonds: Mounted in a pave setting, with 26 calibrated European round brilliant cut diamonds, with a total weight of about 0.78 carats, white colorless F color, VS clarity.
Sapphires: The shell of the snail is mounted in flush settings, with 10 well matched round faceted cut of natural vivid blue sapphires, with a total weight of about 0.60 carats.
Weight: 14.95 Grams, (9.60 Dwt).
Measurements: 35 mm by 30 mm (1.38 x 1.18 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the gold and signed as follows, "PAGR 18KT". It was electronically tested for yellow and white gold of 18 karats as follows, .750/.999 Au.
Collateral: This snail brooch is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this Snail brooch is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 36 gemstones are secured in the settings. This brooch has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
