A modernist brooch in the shape of an Egyptian Lion.
This is a fabulous modernist brooch created in Italy, back in the 1970. The brooch has been crafted in the shape of a stylized ancient Egyptian lion sculpture in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with parts in white gold for the settings of the diamonds. The eyes are embellished with two Colombian emeralds and the lion's mane with sixty-one natural white colorless diamonds of different cuts. The brooch is fitted at the reverse with a hinge double pins bars and a mechanical trombone shaped security lock. The craftsmanship is exceptional with magnificent details. The design is inspired by an ancient Egyptian piece exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
