A geometric cross designed for Jil Sander by Jean Dinh Van.

Beautiful vintage piece, created in Paris France back in the 1980 at the atelier of the iconic jewelry designer Dinh Van. This geometric avant garde cross has been specially made in the 1980 for a runway of the British / German designer Jil Sander. It was carefully crafted with faceted shapes in solid yellow gold of 18 Karats (.750/.999), with very high polished finish finish and fitted on top with a customized movable oval ring to display in a chain or a necklace

This model is very rare and only a few pieces has been made for Jil Sander. The sophisticated design synthesizes the architectural geometric style that characterizes Dinh Van. 

Weight: 51.75 grams (33.17 Dwt).

Measurements: 38 mm by 75.2 mm (1.49 x 2.96 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the eagle head for the assay and guaranty of the 18k gold, the maker's mark in a lozenge cartouche Ste. DVD associated to Societe Dinh Van and signed"DINH VAN Pour JIL SANDER .750".

Jean Dinh Van is a French designer, that was born in 1927 from a French-Vietnamese family. His successful career started behind the workbench at the French jewelry house of Cartier in 1946 and then work for Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible. Dinh Van pieces are very fashionable, sophisticate and easy to wear, also can be displayed as a small toys, sculptures and "Objets du Vertu".
