Magnificent jeweled pair of drop earrings, created in Rome, Italy by the iconic jewelry house of Bvlgari. These model is part of the Bvlgari collection privee, named Celtica. They was carefully crafted with great attention to details in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish. These earrings are suited with hinged omega backs for the fastening clips and looks incredible once on since move freely due the articulated design.
The entire surface is embellished with a gorgeous selection of natural gemstones, carefully selected, with great color saturation, transparency and symmetry, they are described as follow;
The upper parts are Bezel set, with a pair of pear step cut (9 x 7 5 mm) of natural Ceylon vivid blue Sapphires of 2.01 carats and 1.89 carats respectively.
The lower parts are bezel, with a perfectly matched pair of oval cabochon cut (10 x 8 x 6 mm) of natural Burmese intense red rubies of Pigeon Blood Variety of 3.18 carats each one.
Mounted, with a pave setting of 82 exceptionally calibrated (3 to 18 points), round brilliant cut diamonds, with a combined weight of 4.28 carats. E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
They have a combined weight of 32.4 Grams and a measures of 46 mm by 16 mm (1.81 x 0.63 Inches).
Both are stamped, with the maker's mark, the Italian gold assay hallmark, the specific weight of each gemstones, the serial numbers and signed in full, "BVLGARI ROMA .750 C3016 3.18 cts, 3.18 cts, 2.01 cts 1.89 cts".
Bvlgari, was founded in the late 19th century by Sotirio Bulgari, who was born in 1857 in Greece and was descended from a talented family of silversmiths. In 1884 he opened his first shop in Rome on the Via Sistina, and then in 1905 he moved to the actual flag's store in Via dei Condotti. Upon Sotirio’s death in 1932 his sons, Giorgio and Costantino, took over the business. They are credited with creating the highly distinctive ‘Bvlgari’ style, inspired by Greek and Roman classicism revival, the Italian Renaissance, and the 19th century Roman school of goldsmiths. The 1970s marked the beginning of Bulgari’s international expansion with the opening of stores in New York (the first overseas), Paris, Geneva and Monte Carlo.
