The picture frame was made during the art deco period, circa 1935-1940 at the Barovier-Toso workshops in the Murano island. It was masterfully hand-crafted with parts made up in wheel cut clear art-glass, polished and gilt bronze, plated nickel and round glass. The technique used to achieve this rich twisted rope effect is called “\u003cem\u003eRigamenà\u003c\/em\u003e” and requires a high level of skill on the part of the craftsmen. Fitted at the reverse with a concealed stand for display. Very rare decorative piece in great condition.
