Class-One necklace designed by Chaumet Paris.

Beautiful and youthful Class-One necklace chain pendant, created in Paris France by the iconic jewelry house of Chaumet. The modernist necklace has been crafted in solid white gold of 18 karats with high polished finish and embellished with eighteen earth mined natural diamonds and one translucent cat's eye moonstone with superb chatoyancy.

Diamonds: Mounted in a flush setting, with 18 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.20 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.

Moonstone: Mount in a bezel setting, with 1 round cabochon cut (9 x 9 x 4 mm) of a white cat's eye moonstone of about 2.5 carats.

Chatoyancy

In gemology, is an optical reflectance effect seen in certain gemstones. Coined from the French "œil de chat", meaning "cat's eye", chatoyancy arises either from the fibrous structure of a material, as in tiger’s eye quartz, or from fibrous inclusions or cavities within the stone, as in cat's eye chrysoberyl and other translucent gemstones.

The House of Chaumet

The French born jeweler, Marie-Etienne Ninot began his career as an assistant court-jeweler to the queen Marie Antoinette. In 1780, he moved to Paris and founded the House of Chaumet, and was appointed as jeweler to emperor Napoleon in 1802. During this period, Ninot became one of the most popular jewelers in Europe, establishing a loyal and continuous prestigious clientele. today the house remains as a luxury jewelry house under the name Chaumet Paris.
