Jeweled Bee ring designed by Herbert Rosenthal.

A stunning beautiful piece, made in America during the late mid-century period, circa 1960. This iconic cocktail ring has been carefully crafted by Herbert Rosenthal in solid yellow gold of 14 karats, with textured and brushed surfaces. The piece depict the organic figure of a colorful bee resting in an elaborated shank with the wings open and fully extended.

The bee is mounted in full, with round brilliant cuts natural gemstones. The eyes with 2 diamonds (.04 Cts), the head with 7 vivid red rubies (0.63 Cts) and the body with 24 blue sapphires (2.16).

Has a total weight of 10.95 Grams and the actual size is 7, sizeable. The measurements of the Bee on top are 28 mm by 24 mm (1.10 x 0.98 Inches) and raise 11 mm over the finger.

Stamped with the maker's mark, the hallmark for the gold assay and signed inside a cartouche, "HB 14Kt".

Herbert Rosenthal Jewelry Co, was founded in New York in 1945, when they manufactured decorations for Christmas trees. In 1962 the corporation registered two jewelry trademarks, “HR” and “Accent On Value” (1962-1984). Active for twenty-five years, HR jewelry trademark ceased to exist in 1987. Traditionally, the company produced finger rings, bracelets, brooches and pins with the use of 18 K gold, silver and precious stones. Rosenthal mostly specialized in brooches and his business was successful. By the mid 1960’s he created an iconic design of bejeweled bees that brought him fame. Rosenthal has created several insect designs for Tiffany & Co.

Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All the gemstones, are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
