Travel and pendant clock designed by Eszeha Clock Co.

Beautiful foldable travel clock, manufactured in Pforzheim Germany by the Eszeha Clock Co. back in the 1920. This exceptional clock can be fully displayed in a table or wear in a chain as a pendant. It was carefully crafted with art deco geometric patterns in solid silver .930/.999 and embellished with applications of navy gray blue, gold and red enamel over guilloche chiseled surfaces. Karl Gotthilf Scheufele was born in Pforzheim on 6th August 1877 to Johannes and Sophie Scheufele. After a spell as a salesman and studying watchmaking, he started on his own in 1904, making contacts in Russia and the Far East. The ESZEHA Watch Company was officially founded in 1904 in Pforzheim Germany by the grandfather of the founder of the famous Chopard Watch Company. They imported only the finest Swiss movements, and created some of the finest watches of their day. His manufacturing company (ESZEHA – spelling out the first three German phonetic letters S-C-H of his family name) made, in his own words, “brooches, pins, pendants and medallions” for domestic and foreign markets. They were adorned with diamonds and pearls in floral motifs inspired by Art Nouveau. In 1911, Karl Scheufele switched from delivering cases and bracelets to Swiss firms to the assembly of watches and marketing articles in platinum and gold. After the 1st World War, the watch industry was most successful in Pforzheim, particularly when the locally produced ebauche movement appeared.

NoteGuilloché is used in fine jewelry to enhance the appearance of brooches, rings and pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.

Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

ConditionThe overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver.. The enamel is in perfect condition and this piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
