A rare Alexander III "The Great" 336 BC gold stater coin

Beautiful rare coin from the ancient Greeks world. This is a genuine and authentic Gold Stater, struck in the kingdom of Macedonia during the lifetime period of the King Alexander III "The Great" (336-323 BC), at the Amphipolis city mint between the 327-325 BC.

Obv Description: The portrait head of Athena, as a goddess of warfare facing to the right with long hair, wearing earrings, a beaded necklace and a Macedonian crested helmet decorated with a coil serpent.

Rev Description: The draped winged figure of Victory, standing to the right, holding a trophy "Stylus" with the left hand and a victorious crown of laurels with the right hand, a trident-head (control symbol) to the left. At the right field, in vertical position, the name of Alexander in Greek letters, ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡ (Αλέξανδρος).

The coin has a net weight of 8.67 grams and the strike is exceptional, with very unusual medal alignment of 325o axis. Nicely well centered with very high reliefs, superb details and a beautiful face. The overall numismatic grading condition is EF/EF.

This coin was carefully mounted in a custom asymmetric frame with a loop of 6 mm to wear into a chain or necklace. This mounting don’t touch or affect the edge and rims of the coin. This rare coin is absolutely a numismatic collectible item, that can be easily dismounted out of the frame at any time. The coin was not polished or rubbered and don't exhibit solder marks, repairs or bad marks.

Weight: The combined weight of the pendant and the coin is 14.2 grams.

Measurements: The mounting have a measurements of 32 mm by 24 mm (1.26 x 0.96 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the mark for the assay of the gold, "18 KT".

Alexander The Great, was best known as Alexander III, he was a king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia. He was born in the city of Pella in 356 BC. By the age of 20, Alexander succeeded his father Philip II to the throne as king. He spent most of his years as king in an unprecedented military campaign of conquest through Asia, northeast Africa and even reached India. By age 30 he created one of the biggest empires in the ancient world, reaching from Greece to northwestern India. Being undefeated in battle, many consider him as one of history's most successful military commanders. He could be considered one of history's most important figures, having spread the Greek civilization far and wide, and was even admired by Julius Caesar along with many other important historical personages as well.
