Convertible sautoir necklace designed by Edouard Richard for Chaumet.

Beautiful convertible geometric suite composed by three pieces. This versatile gorgeous necklace sautoir has been created back in the early 1970 in Paris France at the atelier of Édouard Richard for the iconic jewelry house of Chaumet. Crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with very high polished finish and conceived to wear all in once or individually such; as a necklace, a bracelet or just the pendant.

Gemstones: Bezel set with 70 graduated round flat cut elements of diverse diameters carved from natural Hungarian green malachite with a weight of about 70 carats.

Weight: Combined total of 105.7 Grams, (67.75 Dwt).

Pendant measure: The pendant alone has a diameter of 56 mm (2.21 Inches).

Necklace lenght: Including the bracelet of 6.75 Inches, all together 35 Inches (88.9 Cm).

Hallmarks: Each piece is stamped with French marks; the eagle's head for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold, the maker's maitre cartouche ER with a cat associated to Édouard Richard, the unique serial numbers, the place of origin and signed, "CHAUMET E.R. FRANCE 18KT 477511M".

Chaumet, was founded by the French born jeweler, Marie-Etienne Ninot. He began his career as an assistant court-jeweler to the queen Marie Antoinette. In 1780, he moved to Paris and founded the house of Chaumet, and was appointed as jeweler to emperor Napoleon in 1802. During this period, Ninot became one of the most popular jewelers in Europe, establishing a loyal and continuous prestigious clientele. today the house remains as a luxury jewelry house under the name Chaumet Paris.

Note: The jewelry atelier of Édouard Richard was also responsible of many jewelry works created for the Parisian houses of Van Cleef & Arpels, Chaumet and Hermes in Paris.

ConditionThe overall condition of this suite is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The malachites are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
