Twisted ropes earrings designed by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.
This unusual model of circular earrings was originally created by Jean Schlumberger for the Tiffany studios in New York city. They was made back in the 1980's with twisted textured wires crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. Suited with posts for pierced ears and omega backs for fastening clips.
Has a combined weight of 17.7 grams and a measures of 20 mm by 21 mm (0.79 x 0.83 Inch).
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the hallmark for the assay of the gold and signed "TIFFANY & CO. 750 18KT 1985".
Jean Schlumberger, was asked in 1956 by the president of Tiffany & Co. Walter Hovin to begin designing for the firm. He had his own workshop at the company until his retirement in the late 1970's and was eventually made vice president of the company. Schlumberger design's at tiffany were remarkable for their whimsical interpretation of natural forms. He was especially inspired by the sea creatures and others animals. He was an exceptional designer, jeweler and a master enameller.

Condition: The overall condition of this earrings is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All the gemstones, are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
