A very rare sculptural pieces made in Switzerland at the very early of the 1970's. This one-of-a-kind unique pair of clip-earrings was designed, with brutalism and organics patterns by the Swiss jeweler-artist Gilbert Albert. Carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with the surfaces finished with textured and high polished patterns, creating a great contrast.
These pair was designed as a mirrored one and are suited at the reverse, with European hinged omega backs for fastening clips. The posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.
They are embellished, with 8 natural round pearls of 4 mm, with light color variations and accented with 2 round brilliants cuts diamonds, with a combined weight of 0.18 carats, F Color, VVS-1.
Has a total weight of 27.95 grams and a measure of 34 mm x 23 mm (1.34 by 0.90 Inches).
They are both stamped, with the designer maker's mark AG, the Swiss gold assay hallmark and signed in full, "GILBERT ALBERT .750".
Gilbert Albert, born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1930, is a jewelry designer and one of the most influential jeweler artist of the 20th and 21th century with more than 10 world award winning prizes. He made important sculptural jewelry works for the Patek Philippe company and he worked there as part of the designer team.
He was head of the workshop from the 1955 to 1962, during which time he designed his signature asymmetrical watches for the company. Mr. Albert took his inspiration from his passion for modern art, notably works by Brancusi and Mondrian. In 1962 after leaving the Patek Philippe Co, he founded an opened his own firm at rue de la Corraterie in Geneva where one of his workshops is located still today. He also worked for the Omega SA Watch Company. Recently he opened boutique stores in Paris and New York city.
They are in excellent condition, with all original from the period, absolutely no replacements and have remains of the original vintage patina, never polished and just gently cleaned.
Collateral: They are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this earrings is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All the gemstones, are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
