Clip-on earrings designed by David Webb (1925-1975).

Very elegant pair of clips on earrings, created in New York City at the jewelry atelier of David Webb back in the 1970. These beautiful dangle clips-on earrings have been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished and hammered finishes, The earrings are mounted with four natural earth mined sapphires and fitted at the reverse with posts for pierced ears and comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips 

Sapphires: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 round cabochons cuts (6 x 6 x 4 mm) of natural vivid blue sapphires, 3.10 carats. (Presumable Pailin).

Sapphires: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 oval cabochons cuts (8 x 6 x 4 mm) of natural vivid blue sapphires, 4.24 carats. (Presumable Ceylon).

Weight: 29.75 Grams (19.27 Dwt).

Measurements: 36 mm by 25.2 mm (1.42 x 1.0 Inches).

Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "©WEBB 18 KT".

David Webb

He was an American jeweler. On July 28, 1948, he founded David Webb, the company, which opened at 2 West 46th Street. Among his clients were Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Barbara Streisand and Beyoncé have also worn his jewelry. He born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1925, Webb was a self-taught designer whose work included dragon bracelets, Maltese cross brooches and animal motifs. In 1964, The Duke of Windsor purchased a bracelet for his wife. Diana Vreeland, a noted columnist and editor of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, was often seen with a David Webb black-and-white enamel zebra bangle.

ConditionThe overall condition of these earrings is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 4 sapphires are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
